If You Could Read My Mind (Gordon Lightfoot cover)
Hey guys, I wanted to share a new song to kick off my “Campfire Covers” series: “If You Could Read My Mind,” by Gordon Lightfoot. This was released in 1970, the year I was born (shoutout to the subscriber who suggested this!). I grew up listening to Gordon Lightfoot via my dad, who (turns out) covered this song as a nightclub singer back in the day. To be honest, I had to do more than a few takes of this one because the song kept choking me up. Powerful stuff.
